Go Solar

Come visit the Solar Knights at the second annual Go Solar Fest at the Broward Convention Center. We will be showing off our awesome go-kart, as well as sharing more information about our team. There's no charge to come. The dates for this event is June 6-7th. We hope to see you there! 

With a little help from my friends

Matty receives help communicating with the motor controller from an Audi racing engineer by the name of Marcus Haselgrove. We are very grateful that we have awesome mentors to help when we need. 

Motor Issues

We are having motor issues. But worse than that, there is no information anywhere to help us fix it. We know that the motor timing is off. We are either having energy fire too early or too late. Hopefully from the help of some mentors and other solar car teams we will be able to fix this isssue. 

Battery Desperate

We are still under the battery count that we need. We are borrowing batteries from other vehicles in the shop to use for SK3. Also we have noticed some battery resistance, so we are taking the motor off to try to problem solve and fix the problem. 

COOLSHIRTS!

A big thanks to Cool Shirt Systems for donating some shirts to our team to ensure our safety on this years race. With these awesome shirts, we will stay cool during the heat of the race. This week our main focus is to still try and figure out how to properly communicate with the motor controller so we can start our fine tuning on the race track. 

Eco Symposium

The Eco Symposium was a success! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Solar Knights. We met a lot of great people, and learned new things. 

This week we still have a lot to work on with SK3. The chassis and drive train could use a little work, and we still don't have the array and canopy on. We need to get this done soon to have enough time to test the finished car before the race this summer.
